This structure is one of several storage containers that player characters can be assigned to [[Jobs|auto-haul]] resources into, though sometimes with mixed results.

Hungry player characters will automatically move to this storage and take the food items for consumption, a trait shared with the [[Bread Basket]]. Unlike the bread basket, this container cannot hold bread, though characters can still store every other food item.

Humorously enough, characters will sometimes still prioritize eating out of the food store over their current task - even if their hunger stat is more than fully satisfied. This can cause minor problems for players utilizing automation in their outposts and living spaces, especially if their squad is munching on food faster than they can stockpile it.
