Generator II

A Generator produces power by burning Fuel. Power output can be increased by 15 by researching Amplified Generators. This can be done twice for a full power output of 130.

With the existence of Wind Generators, some of which produce similar or greater power than Fuel-based Generators, one might question the need for them. The answer is simple: Some regions of Kenshi have very low wind speeds or are wind-dead. Because of this the only functional or reliable energy source would be Fuel-based Generators.
Comparably, wind farms will eventually require gargantuan amounts of space to power well-developed mid/late game bases, and will need numerous Battery Banks to ensure reliability during drops in wind-speed. On the other hand, all a vast array of Generators requires is a meager infrastructure of Biofuel Distilleries, which can be drawn from food-crops or Hemp which is more preferable due to the massive production-speed increase.
If space is a concern yet more power required, 4 Small Generators can be used in the same space as the Generator II. Fully upgraded, the 4 Small Generators will massively outclass the Generator II, yet will yield HORRENDOUS Fuel-efficiency as a result.
Details
- Power Output: 100
- Generator II will burn 1 fuel in 220 in game minutes at 100% load, or ~6.55 Fuel per day, regardless of anything else.
