The Hive Queens are a subrace of the Hives. There are only two characters which belong to this race: The Queen of the West and the Queen of the South.
Unlike the other Hiver breeds, Queens have an artificial metal tank, their dispenser unit, [1] connected to their torso, and circular metal plates throughout their spines. The Queens also have six antennae, instead of the single one most Hivers possess.
Despite the queen appearing as an organic creature, she counts as a machine. She cannot be healed with bandages. She does however need to eat even though her hunger meter is hidden, and will die of starvation if kept in a cell without food.

- Queens are the slowest breed of Hivers.
- While they are part of the Hive race in terms of lore, they are not recognized as hivers by the game internally.
- Hive Queens are the only robotic race which actually swims in water.
