Usage

Place {{Wikipedia glossary}} on the pages of items linked from the glossary. This template is not for use in mainspace (articles).

Pages with this template are categorised into Category:Wikipedia glossary items, if they are in the "Wikipedia:" or "Help:" namespace. No category is used otherwise, since the placement of the template on a page in another namespace is probably an error. If a term in the glossary is defined in a "User:" namespace page, it can be categorised by adding the parameter |category=yes.

This template is unrelated to encyclopedic glossary articles; for those, see Template:Glossary.

Providing a section link

{{Wikipedia glossary|filed under}} e.g.

{{Wikipedia glossary|BEANS}} gives (see far right):

This will link to the section by that name in the Wikipedia:Glossary page. The value provided must exactly match a heading or anchor name in the glossary page. E.g. a heading of ==Foo== or anchor of #Foo would be |Foo in the template. If the name itself contain a = character (as in #Foo=bar), use |1=Foo=bar in the template.

Category suppression

Addition of the page to Category:Wikipedia glossary items can be suppressed (e.g. in template documentation, or on draft pages) with |nocat=yes or |category=no.
