Template:R from subdivision

When used with the "Redirect category shell" (Rcat shell) template:

Template {{Redirect category shell}} may be used to add one or more rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information, see the documentation page below.

When used by itself:

• From a subdivision: This is a redirect from a municipal subdivision (e.g. a neighborhood, borough, quarter, city district, suburb) of the location that is the subject of the target article.
  • If the redirected subtopic should probably have its own article in the future, then also use {{R with possibilities}} and {{R printworthy}}. If notability of the subject can be shown, then be bold and convert this redirect into an article on the subtopic.

This is a variant of {{R from subtopic}}, specifically for municipal subdivisions, such as neighborhoods and boroughs.

This template presently categorizes into Category:Redirects from subtopics but could eventually go to a more specific subcategory.

This template's' behavior is essentially identical to that of {{R from subtopic}}, aside from its name and narrower scope; see that template's documentation, transcluded below, for details.

Most uses of this template that are not also redirects from misspellings or misnomers, should have {{R from printworthy}} in addition to this template. Ones that seem like subjects we need articles about should also have {{R with possibilities}}.

Usage Use this rcat template on mainspace redirects only. This redirect category (rcat) template populates Category:Redirects from subtopics. Add this rcat to a redirect page (not a talk-page redirect) in the following manner, in accord with instructions found at WP:REDCAT: #REDIRECT [[Target article title]] {{Rcat shell| {{R from subtopic}} }} Template {{Template:Redirect category shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect.
