Gunner Recruit is a randomly named Generic Recruit. They are a ranged combat specialist. They can be hired for 6,000 Cats, unless they are Hive, then they can be hired for 4,000 Cats.

They can be found in Eyesocket and Slave Markets. They have a chance of spawning in any town controlled by the United Cities, including when the location is "malnourished". They can be found in Crab Town, Mourn, The Hub, Waystation and Waystation Four, and, depending on certain World States, in Bark, Blister Hill, Clownsteady, Heft, Heng, Sho-Battai, or Stoat. They can also be found in locations controlled by Deadcat or Empire Peasants. They can be found in Shark, no matter which faction is in control of The Swamps.

Their race is determined by their faction (Drifters). They have a random Personality and after recruited have the "Player TOUGH Merc" Dialogue Package. Although this character can potentially spawn as a Hive Soldier Drone, Hive Worker Drone, or P4 Unit, due to conditions on recruitment dialogue, they can only be recruited if they are of those races if they also have a Smart Personality.

They wear <span style="color:#Shoddy">[Shoddy] armour (5% chance of <span style="color:#Standard">[Standard]).
