Requires Large Building Shells tech to build. At 35 Building Material it is a moderately expensive structure that nearly doubles its' floor space with its exposed roof. The central dome is impassable and therefore cannot be built upon, yet the arms of the structure provide a very decent floor space.

Comparing to similar cost buildings, the Bughouse is quite smaller in total floor-space yet has more concentrated building area. Both have a roof dome, yet the Bughouse's dome impedes the construction and use of defensive weaponry.
Though the imprint of the Y-House is huge in comparison to the L-House, the total floor space is roughly equal, yet is more condensed and unobstructed with the L-House, with a flat-open top roof that is not obstructed by anything except a small staircase hatch. Because of this, the L-House may actually have more logistically viable space than the Y-House.
Admittedly, the Y-House has an odd shape that doesn't play well with other structures, creating a very large deadzone around it, meaning if space is a concern, the Y-House is the worst of all available options.
